In March last year, Logicenters broke ground on a new logistics center for the Finnish division of DACHSER. Now, the terminal has officially opened, strategically located near Tampere-Pirkkala Airport.
Situated at Varikontie 34, the facility spans 5,100 square meters on a 21,800-square-meter plot. This project marks another milestone in Logicenters’ expansion and strengthens its position among its growing customer bases. The new terminal is DACHSER’s second logistics center in Finland, following the first in Kerava. The handover of the facility was completed in late January 2025.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with DACHSER through this new terminal. They have been excellent collaborators, demonstrating dedication and trust in this project. This facility is a testament to our commitment to delivering high-quality logistics infrastructure in prime locations. Pirkkala is a key logistics hub, and this terminal enables us to further support our customers’ growth,” says Jarkko Äikää, Commercial Director at Logicenters Finland.
The terminal’s location near Tampere-Pirkkala Airport provides a strong foundation for optimizing DACHSER’s daily logistics operations. Equipped with solar panels for clean energy and geothermal heating, the facility is designed with sustainability in mind. Its proximity to key transport routes ensures excellent highway connections to other important markets in Finland.
“The opening of the Tampere-Pirkkala logistics center is a significant step in DACHSER Finland’s growth strategy. This investment enhances our operational efficiency and supports our goal of providing high-quality logistics services both in Finland and internationally. We have been very pleased with our continuing collaboration with Logicenters”, says Tuomas Leimio, Managing Director of DACHSER Finland European Logistics.
