Comments Off on Logicenters to build fourth logistics center in Pirkkala – foundation stone laid in minister’s presence Logicenters is developing a new logistics center for Dachser Finland in Pirkkala. Construction has started, and the premises will be completed in early 2025. The foundation stone laying ceremony was held on 25 March at the construction site.
Logicenters is developing a new logistics center for Dachser Finland, a 5,100 m² terminal will be built on a 21,800 m² plot, the foundation stone of which was laid in Pirkkala on Monday. The event featured speeches by Minister of Employment Arto Satonen, Mayor of Pirkkala Municipality Marko Jarva, CEO of Dachser Finland European Logistics Tuomas Leimio, Project Director Joni Alatyppö from SSA Rakennus Oy and Jarkko Äikää, Commercial Director of Logicenters.
The property under development is located near Tampere-Pirkkala Airport.. The property will serve as Dachser’s second logistics centre in Finland and a hub for international traffic, offering an even more comprehensive service model to a wider customer base in Pirkanmaa and elsewhere in Finland.
“Pirkkala is one of Finland’s most important logistics hubs, and we are very happy to be able to offer new modern logistics facilities to the area again. Logicenters already has three previous logistic centers in Pirkkala, and we see Pirkkala as a strategically important place for us to operate also in the future,” comments Jarkko Äikää, Commercial Director of Logicenters.
The Dachser Finland Pirkkala project is part of Logicenters’ strategy to support the development of its customers’ operations. The location near Tampere-Pirkkala Airport provides excellent conditions for logistics operations and is optimal for streamlining Dachser’s logistics operations.

The terminal is seeking a BREEAM Very Good environmental certification. The site will be heated with geothermal heat in the future, and solar panels will be installed on the roof of the site to provide clean energy for the assets operations.
Logicenters is known for modern and sustainable logistics properties. Logicenters has 22 sites in Finland, either completed or under construction. Most of the properties are located in Southern Finland, and the best-known ones include Finnish Design Shop’s logistics centre in Turku, Tokmanni’s distribution centre in Mäntsälä and DB Schenker’s logistics centre in Nurmijärvi.
