Major new investment in Nykvarn for Logicenters

Logicenters is continuing its expansion in Greater Stockholm. It has announced the acquisition of land in Nykvarn – just south of the capital – where the initial plan is to construct a new 50,000 m2 facility.

Construction company Veidekke has owned Stora Bysta 3:9 in the Snebro district since 2007. In recent years, the company has been clearing the industrial land in readiness for future use. Logicenters has signed an agreement with Veidekke to take over the property as there is a high demand from customers in the area.

Initially, the company plans to develop the area, with the current local management plan allowing for the construction of a building measuring approximately 50,000 m2. Logicenters also hopes to build an additional 50,000 m2 in the future.

“We are delighted by this collaboration where Veidekke has laid the foundations for what we see as a logistics gem with great potential. Logicenters continues to grow all the time and is more than ready to further establish itself in the regions surrounding Stockholm. Nykvarn has an unbeatable location in terms of logistics, being close to both Södertälje and the entire Lake Mälaren region,” says Matthias Kettelhoit, CEO at Logicenters.

In total, Logicenters has acquired 206,000 m2 of land from Veidekke. Snebro is located right next to the E20 motorway and close to the Svealandsbanan railway.

“Offering mass handling in key areas is a core business for Veidekke’s industrial operations. Our strategy is to conduct such operations from sites that can then be used for property development. Snebro is a great example of such a property. As we wrap up our operations in Snebro, it is good to know that the site will find a new and valuable use as a logistics property,” says Marcus C. Nilsson, Executive Vice President, Veidekke.
