Logicenters has signed a lease agreement with Tokmanni Oy at Moreenikuja in Mäntsälä. The Finnish retail company already operates in the Kapulin Yritysalue area and the new warehouse will be located next to Tokmanni’s current property. Logicenters will develop Tokmanni Oy’s future warehouse over an area of 55,000 m2 and the first phase is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2023. In phase two, Logicenters will have the opportunity to further expand the facility for Tokmanni Oy, with this phase scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2024.
“We are delighted that we have now signed a lease agreement with Tokmanni. It is currently Finland’s largest and only nationwide discount chain and has performed very successfully in recent years. Like us, Tokmanni is very committed to sustainability issues and aims to be carbon neutral by 2025. From that perspective, it really is a pioneer in retail, which matches our goals really well. We look forward to welcoming Tokmanni to its second facility in Mäntsälä and we look forward to start our collaboration,” says Jarkko Äikää, Commercial Director, Logicenters Finland.
The property will be built in line with Logicenters’ ambitious sustainability goals. Solar panels will installed on the roof and the property will use the waste heat as a source of energy from a Data Center that operates in the area. The property will also be certified in accordance with BREEAM Very Good.
“We are pleased to start our collaboration with Logicenters. The project is large from a Finnish logistics perspective and it exciting that we are continuing to expand our presence.
We are currently in a strong growth phase and we believe that this location will play an important role in our continued development and will strengthen the distribution of low-cost products throughout Finland. Logicenters has solid experience in developing modern logistics facilities with sustainability at the focus. We are therefore happy to start a collaboration with a partner who shares our values in sustainability, says Harri Koponen, Vice President, Store Network and Concept at Tokmanni.
