Logicenters is continuing to grow its presence in the Helsinki region. The logistics company is developing its 5,800 m2 state-of-the-art warehouse in Koskelo. The project is scheduled for completion during the second quarter of 2023.
Logicenters has announced new investment in its prime logistics facility Koskelonkuja 4 with a total area of 15,830 m2, just over 20 kilometres northwest of the Finnish capital Helsinki. The new 5,800 m2 of warehouse space will be adapted to meet the needs of future customers.
This will be Logicenters’ first project in Finland where the operator demolishes an existing building and replaces it with a new section that is build according to Logicenters sustainable development targets.
“We are very pleased to be increasing our presence in the Koskelo area. The renovation of Koskelonkuja 4 will be very important for us and will create modern facilities for our future tenants. In addition, the new warehouse will use the heating energy from the deepheat well, that has much lower carbon footprint than traditional heating solutions. We can also cut down the building stage emissions, since we don’t need to do groundworks for the property,” says Jarkko Äikää, Commercial Director, Logicenters Finland.
An agreement has been signed with construction company Fira, which will be responsible for development of the facility. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2023.
“We are excited about our continued collaboration with Logicenters. Our skilled and experienced team will deliver a state-of-the-art facility in one of Finland’s best logistics areas,” says Henri Mämmi, Director of Commercial Construction at Fira.
The property is located next to Ring III, which provides easy access to Helsinki and all other major cities in southern Finland as well as to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. The Koskelo area is home to companies such as Byggmax, Avis, Sika and Ruuki Express.
