Finnish Design Shop, worlds largest online store specialized in Nordic Design, is now moving into Logicenters’ new facility in Turku, Finland. The lease is for a unique 12,000 m2 warehouse where the focus of development has been on both design and the environment.
In December 2020, Logicenters signed a lease with e-retailer Finnish Design Shop. Logicenters has since developed the property to meet the needs of the e-retailer. The logistics center includes new headquarters for Finnish Design Shop, modern office space for the Turku office employees, a showroom and automated warehouse for smaller products. In addition to premium-class architecture and emphasis on design, the sustainability and environmental aspect have played a major role in designing the center.
“We are delighted to finally welcome Finnish Design Shop to our Turku facility. Our ambition is always to offer state-of-the-art facilities which meet the diverse needs of our tenants. This collaboration will clearly demonstrate what we can offer our tenants. Sustainability is something that permeates our business, which was evident in the choice of materials and energy solutions for the Turku facility. We are sure that Finnish Design Shop will thrive at its new premises and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome them,” says Jarkko Äikää, Commercial Director, Logicenters Finland.
In line with Logicenters’ ambitious sustainability goals, solar cells have been installed on the roof and the logistics facility is heated by using geothermal heat. In addition to this, Logicenters has also environmentally certified the facilities in accordance with BREEAM Excellent.
“It is great to be able to move to our new facilities, which were completed on the promised day despite the coronavirus. We are very satisfied with both the smoothness of the whole process and the result, which seamlessly combines the three things that are important to us: efficient logistics, sustainable development, and high-quality architecture. Our new Turku premises are tailored to our needs and enable us to continue our fast-growing e-commerce operations as well as possible,” says Teemu Kiiski, founder and CEO, Finnish Design Shop.
